The simulation of thermal die cycling was done by setting up the cycle time divided into the phases of mold closing, casting, mold opening, spraying. The thermoregulation circuits were considered. Results show the reach of stationary temperature after 20 cycles. The pictures show the temperature of the die before and after spraying. A good correspondence with the temperature measured by IR camera was reached. In particular there is a very low temperature, about 50°C, of pins on the moving side, that causes a defect on the cast.
